To help you plan your days and choose what you would like to do, we have compiled a portfolio of where the best restaurants and bars are, shops, local car hire and taxis, the local Dolmus mini bus service, places of interest and of course where the best beaches are. This is a book that is kept at Villa Rose and includes photos and handy telephone numbers. But below will give you some idea of what you could be doing.

Sailing is very popular around the Bodrum Peninsula. Boats cruise to the area from all over the Mediterranean. If you are interested in history or archaeology, you are likely to see the remains of amphitheatres, tombs and towns of the Lydian, Lycian, Carian, Ionian, Dorian, Hellenic and Roman civilizations. Güllük overlooks the historical site of Iassos; an ancient city founded by Greek colonists.

A supermarket is located just 10 minutes walk from the house or a 2 minute drive or ride on the regular Shuttle Bus, which stops at the end of the road from the Villa. Excursions and trips can be booked at one of the booking offices in Güllük centre. There are also a number of bars, restaurants, banks, shops and Internet cafes, which are also located in Güllük. Sea temperatures are around 25 to 16 °C between summer and winter, making Güllük a great location for swimming, sailing and water sports for most of the year and for scuba divers or people wishing to snorkel, there are regular dive boats that leave from the harbour, or if you just want to enjoy the beach, there are also regular boat trips to secluded beach areas. Fishing is excellent and Güllük is known as 'a fisherman's paradise and the village has some excellent fish restaurants. The promenade on the sea front provides a great place to have an evening stroll, or sit and enjoy the sunset. Güllük is west facing, so it offers beautiful sunsets to enjoy while having a drink as the sun goes down before eating at one of the seafront restaurants. Or just relax in your villa and sit either on the balcony or the terrace and enjoy a drink there, while watching the sunset over Güllük whilst planning your next day. Walker, golfer, diver, boating, horse riding, fishing, or just laying on the beach, you can believe there is something for everyone. A brand new golf course just opened, is fifteen minutes away, with several more golf courses planned in the area. If shopping is your thing, Bodrum offers a range of designer shops, but if that is out of your budget don’t worry, there are plenty of other shops to choose from. While there, a trip to Bodrum Castle and experience the dungeons is a must. Young or old there is always something to do. And at the end of the day, you have a lovely home to come back too, relax in comfort and enjoy the sunset and view.
